Home > General Building & Extensions > 1930s detached house modernised and extended in Beckenham
Whitecroft Way,
Beckenham
This 1930s detached house was
extended and modernised at ground floor level.
From a quite basic
inherited planning approval and through considerable discussions of ideas
and requirements between ourselves and the clients we were able to work
together to provide a fantastic transformation to this property and its
living space.
As commonly the case the existing conservatory which
only provided limited use was removed, the property was then extended and
extensive structural alterations carried out.
Integrating the new
and existing accommodation areas, so that internally the house flowed
without feeling like you were moving between them and with the addition of
large areas of glass the rear garden now becomes a large part of the
interior as this is on constant display whilst in this integrated living,
dining and kitchen space.
As expected, the accommodation now
benefits from all the latest advancements in building techniques and
materials including underfloor heating with individual room control and
high levels of insulation making the property more comfortable together
with greater energy efficiency.
